SITE LOCATION

Land at Grove End Farm provides the opportunity to create a comprehensive mixed use development that complements the existing settlement pattern and provides for housing, employment, social, community and recreational needs with access to extensive green infrastructure.

The site has the capacity to deliver around 2,250 dwellings, employment land, a local centre providing some employment and local facilities and two primary schools; all set within a green infrastructure framework.   Vehicular access to the site will be from the A419 and A38, a transport interchange will also be included promoting the opportunities for sustainable transport connections.

The location of the site at the confluence of the A38/M5 and A419 corridors, and relative proximity to Stroud/Stonehouse, Cam/Dursley and Gloucester presents an opportunity to achieve a mixed use development in a sustainable and highly accessible location (including by public transport).

In Summary the Site’s highly accessible location on a transport corridor and its proximity to Stroud and Stonehouse presents an opportunity to achieve a sustainable mixed use development, whilst respecting landscape, heritage and ecological considerations.

The purpose of this consultation is to seek the views of the community at an early stage to inform ongoing planning application work which is taking place alongside the preparation of the Stroud District Local Plan.
